VIDEO Expanding Access to Oral Health Care: Nurses Make a Difference (New York University College of Nursing)

Nursing is key in the move to improve access to oral health services. There are 3.1 million nurses in the United States. If every nurse took up the cause of oral health, there would be that many more eyes and ears on the issue and that can make an extraordinary difference in screening, intervention and the total health of the body and the person.  Nurses can change the playing field in terms of access, opening up a new world of possibilities for oral health.

New York University College of Nursing is incorporating the Smiles for Life curriculum throughout the nursing program--in the classrooms, simulation labs, seminar discussions and the continuing education of the practicing clinician.
