Interprofessional Oral-Systemic Health Curricular Innovation Awards: A Call for Proposals

New York University College of Nursing’s Oral Health Nursing Education and Practice (OHNEP) initiative, in partnership with National Interprofessional Initiative on Oral Health (NIIOH), announces a call for proposals for the development of instructional resources to support interprofessional education and collaborative practice in oral-systemic health.  This OHNEP program is made possible through the generous support from DentaQuest Foundation, Washington Dental Service Foundation, and Connecticut Health Foundation.

NIIOH Particpant Cynthia Lord, MHS, PA-C Awarded Outstanding PA of the Year 2012

Since the early days of her career as a physician assistant in family practice, Cynthia Lord, MHS, PA-C, of Cheshire, Conn. has been driven by her passion for serving patients with the greatest need for care. Now, in her position as clinical associate professor at Quinnipiac University's PA program, Lord transfers her empathy for patients and her love of serving others in need to the next generation of PAs. The American Academy of Physician Assistants honored Lord with the 2012 Outstanding PA of the Year Award for her passionate support of PAs and their patients.

NIIOH Particpant Ruth Ballweg, MHS, PA-C Awarded AAPA's Eugene A Stead Jr. Award of Achievement

Ruth Ballweg, MPH, PA-C, is the 2012 recipient of AAPA's Eugene A. Stead Jr. Award of Achievement. She is being recognized by the American Academy of Physician Assistants for her commitment to advancing the PA profession both globally and domestically, and for her dedication to creating paths to the PA profession for military servicemen and women.
Named for the founder of the PA profession, the Stead Award is given to an individual for a lifetime of work that has a broad and significant impact on the PA profession.
